A vector re-animation

Watch your artwork draw itself.

Upload an SVG or a photo. Avecta redraws it stroke by stroke and hands back an MP4 you can post anywhere — no timeline, no keyframes, no editing software.

Getting there

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Upload

Drop in an SVG and tune the animation, or keep the defaults. Got a photo? Vectorize it into an SVG first.

  2. Step 2

    Watch it draw

Your artwork is redrawn shape by shape into a build-up animation, rendered frame by frame in the background.

  3. Step 3

    Share

The finished MP4 lands in the gallery — watch it, share the page, or download the video and the traced SVG.

Why Avecta

  • No account required

Upload and animate straight away. Leave an email if you want to claim your uploads later by registering.

  • Full render control

Build modes, colors, drawing marker, camera zoom, timing, canvas size, frame rate — every animation option is yours to tune.

  • Photos become vector art

Vectorize traces PNG and JPEG photos into clean SVG shapes you can download — and then reanimate.

  • Ready-to-share MP4

What is Avecta?

Avecta turns artwork into build-up animations: your image is redrawn shape by shape, as if being sketched by hand, and rendered into an MP4 you can watch, download, and share. Upload an SVG, pick how it should be drawn, and a video comes back — no timeline, no keyframes, no editing software. Have a photo instead? The Vectorize page traces PNG and JPEG images into SVG first.

Why does Avecta exist?

Build-up animations are everywhere — logo reveals, explainer intros, speed-drawing clips — and they are tedious to make by hand: you either animate every stroke yourself in After Effects or pay someone who will. But the drawing order is already sitting in the artwork itself. Avecta started as a tool to exploit that: read the shapes, reveal them in a sensible order, and let a renderer do the work that people were doing frame by frame. What began as a command-line renderer for personal projects became this site so the same thing takes one upload instead of an install.

Is the video generated by AI?

No — there is no AI anywhere in generating the video. Every frame is produced by a traditional rendering algorithm: Avecta reads the shapes already present in your SVG, reveals them one by one, and moves a virtual camera across the canvas — the same work an animator does by hand, just carried out by code. No generative model, no prompts, no tokens burned, not even a local LLM. Nothing is invented or hallucinated: the finished frame is your artwork exactly as you made it, pixel for pixel. Your work is never used to train a model — not by us, not by anyone — and is never sent to a third-party AI service. The only machine-learning model anywhere in Avecta is an optional object detector used when converting a photo to SVG (see “Do you support raster images such as PNG or JPG?” below). It runs locally on our servers, only affects how the traced shapes are grouped, and never touches the video.

Does the video show how I actually drew it?

Not exactly, and it does not claim to. There is no way to know your real strokes, so Avecta does not try to guess them. Instead it builds one plausible way the SVG elements could be drawn on screen, in an order it derives from the file itself. The finished frame is still your artwork exactly as you made it, pixel for pixel — it is only the path to that frame that Avecta constructs. Because that order and its look are driven by the options you choose, the same artwork can produce many different videos in many different styles: the build-up is a presentation of your work, not a recreation of your process.

What files can I upload?

SVG files up to 10 MB animate directly on the home page. To animate a photo, use the Vectorize page first: it traces PNG or JPEG images (up to 10 MB) into an SVG you can download and then reanimate.

Do you support raster images such as PNG or JPG?

Yes, through the Vectorize page. Reanimation itself takes SVG, so a raster image (PNG or JPEG, up to 10 MB) is first traced into clean SVG shapes you can download — and then reanimate on the home page, exactly like any other SVG. You can also just keep the SVG if all you wanted was to convert the photo. Tracing is done by a conventional vectorization algorithm; no AI is involved. One optional setting does use a model: turn on object-by-object drawing and a small segmentation model — running locally on our servers — works out which pixels belong to the same object, then groups the traced shapes so a later reanimation reveals the picture object by object (background, then face, then eyes) instead of abstract color layers. It only decides grouping; it never draws anything or alters your image, and if it finds nothing it falls back to a plain trace.

Do I need an account to upload?

No — anyone can upload without signing up, though guests are limited to a couple of renders per day. A free account lifts that to a monthly allowance and gives you a permanent history. If you add your email when uploading as a guest, you can claim those uploads later by registering with the same address and they will appear in your history automatically.

Is it free? What do the plans include?

Yes, there is a free tier — a set number of renders each month at up to 720p and 30 fps, with a small Avecta watermark. Paid plans (Pro and Studio) raise the monthly allowance, unlock larger and faster output (up to 4K and 120 fps), remove the watermark, keep your videos longer, and render at higher priority. See the Pricing page for the full comparison. Online checkout is not open yet, so to move to a paid plan, contact us and we will set it up.

Is there a watermark on my videos?

On the free and guest tiers, yes — a small Avecta watermark. Paid plans remove it entirely, and let you save your own watermark instead: upload a PNG or just type your name and pick a typeface, then choose where it sits, how large it is, and how visible. Manage them under Account → Watermarks.

Can I control how the animation looks?

Yes. The upload dialog exposes the full render options: build mode (paths, polygons, text, images), colors and background, drawing marker, camera zoom and timing, canvas size, and frame rate (1–120 fps). Leaving everything untouched uses sensible defaults.

How long does rendering take?

Usually well under a minute for typical artwork — the animation is rendered frame by frame and encoded to video in the background. Your reanimation appears in the gallery as soon as it finishes.

Are my uploads public?

Yes — finished reanimations appear in the public gallery on this page, credited to your account name or shown as anonymous.

How long are my videos kept?

It depends on your plan. Guest uploads are kept for a short window, the free tier keeps videos for a month, and paid plans keep them much longer — the top tier keeps them indefinitely. Download anything you want to hold onto; the MP4 is yours to keep once it is on your device.

What format is the final video?

MP4 (H.264), which plays in every modern browser and can be downloaded and shared anywhere.
